Stock the Nurse’s Closet!

The nurse’s closet keeps essential clothing items on hand for students who need a change of clothes throughout the school day. They are currently seeking new/ gently used pants/ shorts for boys and girls (large and small), plus socks (large and small). Please drop off these items in the office. Thank you!

🍿Staff Appreciation Snack Cart

Help fill the teacher/ staff snack cart! Drop off non-perishable food items in the front office. The snack cart is a simple, yet powerful, way to show our teacher and staff how much we appreciate all that they do. Feedback from staff about the snack cart has been glowing!

Help Feed Whatcom County Kids: Granola Drive for Wild Birds Charity

March 6-March 27th

Wild Birds is a volunteer-led organization working to ensure no child in Whatcom County goes hungry. They provide weekend food bags to 49 schools, serving over 1,400 kids each week. You can help by donating boxes of granola bars for their weekly food bags. Granola Bar Drives and monthly donations ensure they never have to say “no” when a school reaches out about a child in need. Shop their wish list to send items directly, make a monetary donation, or drop off granola bars in the “Wild Birds Granola Drive” box in the office.

Volunteering with the PTA allows our community to continue to do the important work of supporting our teachers, our students, and all of Happy Valley Elementary! We need folks like you to help! There are always many ways to support from being hands-on at events to acting behind the scenes. The role that the PTA plays is vital to the school and the role you can play is vital to the PTA!

Special project

📹Seeking a Videographer for a special project!

PTA is looking for someone with basic video recording and editing skills to put together a short, 3-5 minute video by the end of the school year. We are hoping to capture interviews with a few staff members and current 5th graders, talking about the Mr. D’Hondt Honor Award that we give out during the Move-a-Thon each year. Our goal is to ensure that the memory of Mr. D’Hondt lives on at Happy Valley and that this video can help tell the story and importance of this award during future Move-a-Thon events. PTA will coordinate the interviews. We are seeking someone who can handle the filming and then put the video together for us. If you’re willing to help with this project, please contact president@happyvalleypta.com.

PTA Leaders for 2026-27

PTA Leadership Needed for 2026-27!

Have you enjoyed all the wonderful offerings our PTA makes possible at school, such as the Free Book Fair, school musical, glow dance, game night, fitness night, field trips, afterschool enrichment opportunities, and other family nights? To make sure our work continues, we must have some talented folks raise their hands for a PTA leadership position for next year! The Nominating Committee is currently accepting candidate submissions for President, VP, and Secretary. Board positions will be elected on May 29th during the PTA General Meeting (6:30 - 8pm). There is a lot of support provided for training into these roles, and you would be coming into a strong, award-winning parent organization. If you are interested in learning more, contact the Nominating Committee.
