STEAM
FAMILY
NIGHT

March 27, 2026

Why a STEAM night vs. a traditional science fair?

More participation, less pressure

With less emphasis on individual student displays and more focus on activities and experiences that all students can connect with and participate in.

Hands-on learning for all ages

Families can experiment together at their own pace, making STEAM concepts accessible to a wide range of grades and learning styles.

Stronger community connection

A shared experience encourages collaboration, conversation, and curiosity—turning learning into a social, joyful event.

Mark your calendars, because you don’t want to miss Family STEAM Night! Our committee of parents and staff are working hard on an engaging and interactive experience that is sure to ignite scientific curiosity in kids and grown ups alike! Volunteer sign up will be coming next month. Interested in helping with the planning committee or maybe hosting an activity station? Contact us!

STEAM night is part of S.T.E.A.M. Week at HV

March 23-27, 2026

All this week, we’re dedicated to the curiosities of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! Classrooms will highlight these concepts and PTA is hosting a science assembly and family Steam night! Ask your classroom teacher about steam activities happening in your room and how you can support them!

Zaniac Assembly

Wednesday, March 25, 2026

8:40 a.m.

As part of STEAM week at Happy Valley (celebrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math), students will have a special visit from The Zaniac Comedy Show, bringing his Gravity Catastrophe comedy science show to our school! Students earned this assembly thanks to all their hard work at last fall’s Move-a-Thon Fundraiser! The PTA is grateful to our donors for helping to bring this exciting experience to our school.

4th Grade Rocket Projects

March 23-27, 2026

As part of STEAM week (March 23-27), HV grandparent, Dan Bailey, is leading an exciting science project with the 4th grade classes. The 3-day project will involve constructing pressure-based rockets from 2-liter plastic bottles and cardboard and then launching them in the field! We need your help! We need to collect at least fifty (50) 2-liter plastic bottles for this project. Please drop them off in the office or send them to school with your student and ask them to leave them in the office or deliver them to a 4th grade teacher!
