Adventure Quest—Outdoors Only! (Grades 1-5)
Fridays, January 21 – March 25, 2022 (no session on 3/11)

In Adventure Quest, children become the heroes of a fun and dynamic quest, working together in a mythical and
magical world to overcome interesting challenges, solve mystifying riddles, brainstorm unique solutions to puzzling
dilemmas, and swashbuckle with foes. Wielding safe foam Swasher swords, the questers play dueling games and
act out challenges in an environment that teaches good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for others. Each week
will offer a new chapter in the story; as the adventure unfolds every student will have a chance to shine as they face

new challenges and puzzles.

Wild Whatcom Neighborhood Nature

This winter, Wild Whatcom will be offering its popular Neighborhood Nature after-school program in various parks
throughout Bellingham. Neighborhood Nature encourages kids to connect with their surrounding ecosystem
through exploration, play, art, and nature activities. Kids will learn to love the natural world right around them,
develop naturalist knowledge, build community, and enjoy free play and exploration. This program meets rain or

YMCA Trail Blazers

January 24 – February 21 and/or February 28 – March 28, 2022

The Trail Blazers program is for adventurous boys and girls in grades 2–5. We run, hike, play games, make friends,
build and clean up trails, challenge ourselves, and get dirty! Groups meet after school at a different location each

YMCA Trail Snails Hike & Seek Club

January 19 – March 3, 2022: Wednesdays 3:00-5:00 OR Thursdays 1:30-3:30

Trail Snails is an easy-paced walking, hiking, and discovering club for boys and girls in grades 2-5. Participants will
hike through the woods, explore nature, and follow a different scavenger hunt theme each week for 6 weeks. We
will meet at two different parks—Lake Padden and Fairhaven Park—for 3 weeks in a row each. Questions?
