Happy Valley Gardens Program
We're excited to welcome a new gardening program to Happy Valley! This program is a partnership with Happy Valley PTA, Gardens Coordinator Katie George, and Common Threads.
This program is kicking off in Summer 2025 and will continue throughout the school year as an enrichment, evening and weekend activity for families.
Read below how you can get involved with the gardens at Happy Valley, and then join us and let's see what we can grow together!
THANK YOU for taking care of your school garden!!

Summer Garden Care Volunteering
Before you volunteer, please fill out our volunteer form (it's quick.)
Please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up.
Signing up for a garden care slot means you will visit the garden 2-3 times on your week. When you visit, please: water if it is needed; pull some weeds and add them to the compost; and harvest whatever is ready!
After you volunteer, please log your volunteer hours. This helps us compete for grants, which means resources to provide the garden and cooking classes our children love!
Once you've filled out the volunteer form, you're welcome to go to the garden and volunteer at the suggested time, but you're also welcome to spend time in the garden, help, and harvest ANY TIME during the summer. See the Honorable Harvest Guidelines below!
Questions or Concerns? Please feel free to e-mail sarah.wheatley@commonthreadsfarm.org or call/text (360) 927-1590 with questions. If you text or leave a message, please say you're volunteering at Happy Valley Elementary (Common Threads has many school sites!)
