2019-2020 PTA BOARD

Kate Polselli, President

I am excited to start my third year as Happy Valley PTA President!  I love the opportunity to connect with other local families, that being a part of the PTA has provided me.  My family and I relocated to the west coast 9 years ago from Upstate New York and have loved making Bellingham our home! My husband, Mario, and I have 2 daughters. Amara will be entering 6th grade in the fall and Francesca will be in 3rd grade.  I work in the community as a Realtor for Brandon Nelson Partners.  In my past I have experience working in the internal audit department of a large credit union on the east coast and hold degrees in psychology and primate conservation. In my spare time I love to be outside, usually hiking with my dog, Maggie.

Jaynie Gablehouse, Vice President

Hi!  Happy Valley is such a special place and my son Hank is really excited to be in fourth grade this year.  I joined the Happy Valley PTA because I wanted to know more about my son's new school and find ways that I might be able to help and be involved.  Working full-time, I've not had a ton of opportunities to meet a lot of parents but I'm impressed by this community's kindness and connection to their children.  In my day job, I'm a product developer and creative manager for a local pet products manufacturer.  My husband Brad owns and operates Parkway Shell Gas Station & Automotive Repair on Old Fairhaven Parkway.  For fun, my family likes to travel (local and afar) and explore the great outdoors.  I look forward to another great year at Happy Valley and meeting more wonderful HV families!

Lindsey Ingram, Treasurer

The ones who call me mom are - Griffith (3rd Grader) & Mallory (1st Grader).  I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and relocated to Bellingham with my husband (a B’Ham Native) in 2012.  I went to school at Salt Lake Community College and University of Utah in Business.  I have worked in many fields from my first job in a local bakery (Oh those eclairs!!) to coaching youth soccer, to 15+ years in the logistics industry, all leading up to Motherhood.  Adding PTA Vice President to my resume is very exciting and I look forward to the opportunity.  I love reading (who has time for that with small kids – right?), playing soccer, cooking up a meal for anyone and listening to some good ole’ country music.  In just one year my family has gotten to experience and loves the Happy Valley Way and are so excited to be a part of this great school.

I look forward to meeting and connecting with others!

Josie Melton, Secretary

I am excited to take on a more formal role with the Happy Valley PTA this year. Besides keeping up with my kids (6th grader Matilda and 3rd grader Levi) I also teach Elementary Science Education courses at WWU. The Melton's love a good adventure and especially those that include mountain biking, BMX racing and beaches. I look forward to meeting more Happy Valley families this year!

Summer Trudell, Special Projects

I am a proud mom to three boys: Ian (3rd grade), Noah (1st grade), and Holden (preschool). I'm a Washington native that graduated from WWU, but moved to the East Coast (GA and MI) for about a decade. We moved back in 2013 to raise our sons in Bellingham. I joined PTA because I am a big believer that parent support helps build community, supports our tremendously talented teachers and staff, and enriches the lives of our children. I also believe that parenting "takes a village" and I love helping support these connections.  Previously, I worked as an Account Executive at ABB Enterprise Software, supporting energy companies and utilities in the PNW and on the East Coast. My husband, Dan, works as a Lead OBD Calibration Engineer at Paccar. In our "free" time, I love cooking and reading, and our family enjoys travel, sports, and the great outdoors (hiking, biking, swimming, soccer, etc.).
